SHORT NOTE ON THE SUCCESS
Van Dhan vikas Kendra was form in one cluster in Bajengdoba Block which is named as "BOLCHIM" it was form on 8th -Sep- 2022. Where 6 V.O present in Bolchim VDVK. This group is formed together to produce a food processing on forest-based products mainly on Banana product inorder to generate income from the finished goods. Bolchim VDVK consist of 302 total members they are engaged in making banana chips, Fruit juice and jam and Pickles.Bolchim VDVK members active and recently they came up with other activities such as jackfruit chips,pickle making on seasonal fruits, fresh meat pickle, bamboo pickle, seasonal fruit juice and squash. Now they are engaged in making more product out of forest based products.The VDVK has been trying to make it successful even if they face many difficulties. The path which led to their success was when the VDVK created groups into three one for the chips where 7 members are present, the other for pickle group where 13 members are present and the other 7 groups for juice and squash. This is the way they are sharing their timelines. The members who are engaged in the activities shared a timeline from Monday to Saturday. BOLCHIM VDVK have reach a sales amount of Rs 1,20,000/- (one lakh twenty thousand only) on selling the value added products in and outside the village.
CHALLENGES AND ISSUES
They face a number of problems such as
Only few members turn up for the activity, lack of cold storage for fruits. They have issues in selling their products in the markets due to improper packaging, branding and labelling.
Lack of knowledge in the modern packaging techniques.
IMPACT OUTCOME
The Van Dhan acts as a beacon of hope for the members in which the members are able to generate income which also motivate them to create better quality products.
It has also become a platform for skill development for the rural community.
