GREEN MEGHALAYA ( PES )
(Grassroot Level response Towards Ecosystem Enhancement and Nurturing Meghalaya) GREEN Meghalaya ( PES ) scheme is meant to support communities, clans, or individuals that commit to conserve and protect Natural Forests for a minimum period of 30 years. Communities, clans, or individuals that have a minimum of 1 Hectares of Natural Forest are eligible under this scheme.
TOTAL BENEFITS
- Rs. 10,000/- per hectare per year

- If the Forest is Dense Forest / Very Dense Forest

- Rs. 5000/- per hectare per year
- If Forest is traditionally recognised Sacred Grove or has Living Root Bridge or is located in eco-sensitive zones around protected areas.* (National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuary) or Wildlife corridors such as Elephant corridor or have tourism potential sites such as cave and waterfall**
